Algiers, May 12 – In a significant step toward strengthening cultural and sports cooperation between Algeria and Vietnam, Algerian Minister of Sports Mr. Sadi Walid received a high-level Vietnamese delegation this evening to discuss the development of Vovinam Viet Vo Dao in the region.

The delegation included Dr. Mai Huu Tin, President of the World Vovinam Federation; Mr. Bach Ngoc Chien, Vice President in charge of finance; and His Excellency the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Also present was Mr. Mohamed Djouadj, President of the Algerian Vovinam Vietvodao Federation.

The meeting focused on expanding the reach of Vovinam, the traditional Vietnamese martial art, in Algeria—now considered a strategic hub for promoting the discipline across Africa and Arab nations.

Both Minister Walid and the Vietnamese Ambassador praised Mr. Mohamed Djouadj for his recent achievement in Vietnam, where he successfully earned the prestigious seventh grade in Vovinam during a recent examination. The recognition highlights Algeria’s growing prominence in the global Vovinam community.
