On the morning of May 1, 2025 (the 4th day of the 4th lunar month, Year of the Snake), the Vovinam Việt Võ Đạo School solemnly held the 65th Memorial Ceremony for Founder Nguyen Loc (1960–2025) at the school’s ancestral house located at 31 Su Van Hanh Street, Ward 2, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.

The ceremony was held with great solemnity, with the participation of all members of the School’s Masters Council, along with martial arts masters and students from across the country.

Notably, this year’s Memorial Ceremony for Founder Nguyen Loc also welcomed the participation of martial arts masters from Algeria, led by Master Mohamed Djouadj. This reflects the deep gratitude of Vovinam practitioners worldwide toward Founder Master Nguyen Loc, who established the school and helped spread it globally to this day.

Speaking at the ceremony, Master Mohammed Djouadj – General Secretary and Vice President of the World Vovinam Viet Vo Dao Federation (WVVF) – shared:

“I am deeply grateful and proud to return to Vietnam to attend the Memorial Ceremony for Founder Nguyen Loc and to participate in the High-Rank Belt Grading Examination. I will continue to learn, train, and promote the Vovinam martial art widely throughout Algeria and across Africa, so that our discipline becomes more well-known and continues to grow and thrive globally.”
