The 4th World Vovinam Championship 2015 took place at Salle Hassan Stadium, in the capital city of Algiers, People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, from July 29 to August 1, 2015.
The event gathered 250 delegates, referees, and athletes from 21 countries and territories around the world. Among them were nations with strong competitive achievements in professional Vovinam such as Vietnam, Algeria, Iran, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Romania, and Senegal.
Athletes competed enthusiastically in two categories: technical performance and combat, to win 74 sets of medals across various weight classes, genders, and levels.
The athletes in this tournament were very young and physically strong. They demonstrated good individual techniques, confident performances, well-structured routines, and impressive agility. The technical level of the athletes has noticeably improved with each tournament, proving that Vovinam is developing steadily and with quality.
At the end of the competition, Team Vietnam claimed the championship with 19 gold medals and 5 silver medals.
The host country, Algeria, ranked second with a total of 15 gold, 12 silver, and 6 bronze medals.
Italy came in third with 1 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
