In a significant step toward advancing the practice of Vovinam Viet Vo Dao in Africa, Her Excellency Ms. Khady Diène Gaye, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Culture of Senegal, hosted a high-level meeting with international and regional Vovinam leaders.
The meeting brought together prominent figures in the Vovinam community, including Dr. Mai Huu Tin, President of the World Vovinam Federation; His Excellency the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Algeria and Burkina Faso; Mr. Djouadj Mohammed, Secretary General of the World Vovinam Federation and President of the African Vovinam Federation; Mr. Bach Ngoc Chien, Vice President of the World Vovinam Federation; Dr. Diomaye Dieng, President of the Senegalese Union of Vovinam Viet Vo Dao; Mr. Mamadou Diop, Senegalese Technical Director; and Mr. Mamadou Kor, Coach of the Senegalese National Team.
The central theme of the discussion was the restructuring and revitalization of the Vovinam Viet Vo Dao movement across Africa. Participants reviewed current activities and laid the groundwork for future initiatives coordinated by both the World and African Vovinam Federations. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening local Vovinam clubs in Senegal through increased support from the national federation.
This collaborative effort marks a renewed commitment to promoting Vovinam Viet Vo Dao as a cultural and sporting bridge between Vietnam and African nations, and as a tool for youth development, discipline, and international cooperation.
