Perhaps in the hearts of every Vovinam disciple around the world, regardless of nationality or skin color, there lies the wish to one day come to Vietnam and visit the Tổ đường of the discipline.

In these last days of September, the masters and disciples of the Thuy Vo Vovinam Club from Belgium returned to the homeland of the martial art. This pilgrimage is planned to last for two weeks, during which they will exchange training with domestic masters and visit Vietnam’s famous landmarks. On September 27, the delegation visited the Tổ đường to offer incense in remembrance of Founder Nguyễn Lộc and the senior masters.

Afterward, the group went to the home of the late master Nguyễn Văn Chiếu to pay tribute and meet with his wife, Mrs. Trần Thị Thanh.

The delegation presented the uniform of the Vovinam Thuy Vo club to Mrs. Tran Thi Thanh, wife of Master Nguyen Van Chieu.

“This time, I do not return as the Secretary General of Vovinam Belgium, nor as the head of a club. I return simply as a Disciple of Vovinam – with the honor and privilege of introducing this beautiful country, with its rich culture and warm-hearted people, to my students and friends.

This is, without a doubt, the true essence of Vovinam: more than martial arts training, it is about sharing, brotherhood, and human connection.

I have always considered Vovinam a second family. Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to meet incredible people and create countless unforgettable memories. Today, what I cherish most is the opportunity to pass on these experiences to my students and companions.

Together, we founded our club, Vovinam Thủy Võ, which truly embodies this spirit of family and transmission. To me, Vovinam is a precious treasure, and I sincerely hope every võ sinh will have the chance to live and experience it to the fullest. ” Said by Master Tri Dinh from Thuy Vo Vovinam Club.

With this spirit, the new Board of Directors of the Vovinam Federation of Belgium is committed to continuing the mission of spreading and developing our art – not only as a martial practice, but as a bridge of culture and compassion.
